Jivana Drenth

Brilliant first lesson with Jivana. She quickly gauged my level and got me to practice listening, speaking and reading. Jivana has an encouraging and supportive teaching style - she gave me time to slowly string sentences together, but also helped when I was out of my depth. I feel I learnt a lot in an hour, and am looking forward to next lesson!

I love my Portuguese lessons with Jivana! Even though I’ve only been learning for six months, I’m very happy with my progress and feel confident expressing myself in simple Portuguese. Jivana is a great teacher and is friendly and patient. She is flexible and open to suggestions on what I would like to learn about and what I would like more practice on. I learn new things in each class with a mix of grammar, listening, and speaking about different topics and they are always so much fun! Obrigada Jivana!

Ive advanced to be able to have a basic conversation about ordering half coffee/half milk, toast with butter & tea with honey - yay!!

Jivana is helping me realize a life goal of being able to understand & speak European Portuguese, the native language of my great grandparents. I began in early 2022 & understand most of what I hear & read. She is always prepared for our classes & assigns challenging homework that helps me advance my skill & learning.

Such a great pleasure and very learning full to have lessons from Jivana!
